The freight handling facility at Kent International Airport is as good as you will find anywhere in the world. Our handling team is equipped with the full range of aircraft handling equipment and the airport currently services daily 747 freight movements along with ad-hoc charters ranging from live horses to stage equipment and racing cars. The airport has recently invested heavily in providing brand new custom built equipment which puts it at the forefront of the cargo handling business.

KIA specialises in the fast handling of time critical freight and with a road journey time of less than 45 minutes to the M25, KIA provides the perfect gateway to London via the least congested long-haul runway in the South East. KIA backs onto the dual-carriageway A299 which connects to the M2 motorway taking your cargo directly to the M25 and beyond. The airport also offers road transport connections to the Port of Dover in only 35 minutes providing an excellent platform for European bound consignments.
The airport is also able to accommodate shipments of fresh meats and animal products through a state of the art, fully licensed Border Inspection Post. The BIP was first opened in 2005 and remains one of the best such facilities in Europe.
KIA has seen rapid growth in recent years in its freight throughput. Current traffic levels exceed 30,000 metric tonnes per annum making KIA the 8 th largest freight airport in the UK. This growth is expected to continue and the airport is well equipped to accommodate further expansion.
